The Olympus Terrace Kitchen project in Mukilteo focused on updating an original kitchen and refreshing the connected living area. The space previously had tile countertops with grout that was difficult to maintain, along with an outdated microwave/hood setup. The project began with multiple layout iterations to fit an extra-wide refrigerator and meet the homeowners’ functional needs, followed by a detailed material selection plan to keep construction organized.
During the 7-week build, the team restored the home’s wood beams by stripping, sanding, and staining them, while also completing new cabinetry, Stratus Stone quartz surfaces, undercabinet lighting, and updated paint throughout the living area and fireplace. Challenges such as electrical reorganization and a quartz backsplash detail issue were resolved quickly without affecting the schedule. The final result was a cohesive, high-end refresh with balanced wood tones and a finish the client was very happy with.
